Niles West High School Graphics Installation
An athletic department aspires to encourage school spirit beyond the classroom.
Project Manager: Julia Kaufman
Printing Consultant: Mike Sherkey
Writer: Jon Davis
Named one of the top public schools in the nation by Newsweek in 2012, Niles West is a public four-year high school located in Skokie, Illinois. Home of the Niles West Wolves, athletic programs compete in the Central Suburban League or CSL.
You may know their motto:
Respect All – Fear None!
Kendall Griffin is the Director of Athletics at Niles West and entering his third year at this respected educational institution. Within the playing fields he saw opportunities to boost school spirit with windscreen banners and bleacher graphics. Vendors had been in touch but finding the right creative partner was turning into an ongoing homework assignment!
“Working with Cushing has been a great experience and the personal touch really stuck with me – Mike personally took measurements at the school and was very responsive. Michelle was easy to work and came up with a great design our boosters loved.”
It was very important to earn the trust of school boosters and Mike personally visited the school to conduct a site survey. Kendall and school boosters had numerous ideas, but did not have a designer. Mike recommended Michelle Ward, a Cushing color coordinator with a keen eye for graphic design (and skills to match).
