Sleeping Giants

Highland Park High School is a four-year, public school about twenty-five miles north of Chicago. Last spring, the home of the Giants was interested in printing some banners to get their 2,000 students excited for the upcoming baseball and softball season.

With school spirit a priority, they stepped into the batter’s box.

Message
“I chose Cushing because it’s a Chicago company. I felt like the people who came out for a site survey, Val and Matt, were very thorough and took their time. You can really see it – it just looks beautiful.”

Batter Up!

Jon Rowley has been the Athletics Director at Highland Park High School for two years. He had some experience coordinating school graphics in a previous position, and wanted to do the same at Highland.

A colleague from Maine West referred him to Cushing, who hit the ball out of the park!

After the site survey, our production team showed Rowley mock ups of the fields with the banners in place. “That was nice to see, so we were able to make some adjustments before the banners were hung,” said Rowley. Even after the installation, when some changes needed to be made, Cushing was “very responsive” and came back promptly to fix the issues.

Highland Park Baseball

To help picture how graphics would look, Julia Kaufman and Sarah Brookhart created mock ups, virtually placing the banners on the fields. This gave the Highland Park Athletic Department the chance to see where the banners would be hung, and allowed for last-minute adjustments to be made before going to print. Check out the gallery below.

The Jolly Blue Giants

During the baseball season, new banners lined the fences on the perimeter of Highland Park’s baseball and softball fields, helping these high-traffic areas pop.  Located on a main street near the school, the banners can be seen by people walking and driving by.

You can see additional banner printing options on the service page!
