Customer Service Week is Cushing’s weeklong celebration of our teammates, a little like a spirit week. We pick a theme, play games, dress up, and hand out awards for a job well done in the previous year. This year, we got back to our roots with a

Chicago theme!

The first day of Customer Service Week 2023 was Daaa Sports! We asked that everyone come dressed to represent their favorite Chicago sports team or player. We also played a few rounds of Pin-the-Glasses-on-Harry-Caray!

NEXT UP WAS CHICAGO’S VERY OWN, WHERE WE ASKED FOLKS TO DRESS AS ACTORS, BANDS, AND HISTORICAL FIGURES WHO COME FROM CHICAGO!

Rubab even dresses as our very own David Parkes! Did you know David’s an actor?! You may have seen him on Chicago Med or caught him in a play at Timeline Theatre!

Wednesday was dedicated to beloved Chicago events!

From the St. Patrick’s Day Parade to Lollapalooza, the Air & Water Show, and everything in between, Chicago events were very well represented!

Friday night we celebrated our annual company party and award ceremony!

We celebrated anniversaries and handed out awards at our block party-themed party. Employees are recognized for going the extra mile and working hard every day throughout the year.

2023 Rookie of the Year

Winners of rookie of the year are new team members who have made an impact! 2023 brought us quite a few new coworkers, so this was a tough race!

2023 Mike Duff Award

The late Mike Duff was a Cushing leader who was always anticipating the next customer need. Not only passionate about new technology, he was creative about developing new uses for equipment already on the shop floor – and extremely enthusiastic about customer service. (He was also a lover of bonsai trees!)

THIS YEAR’S WINNER OF THE MIKE DUFF AWARD IS Meagan Arizpe!

2023 Carl Hansen Award

The consummate professional, Carl Hansen was known for being a most thoughtful co-worker, great listener, and calm advisor to his peers regardless of their position in the company.

He was also an avid painter, so the winner of this award is given a Carl Hansen original!
